Media coverage of our classroom shortage

As some of you may have noticed there has been some discussion in the media lately around classroom shortages.  We were contacted by a few journalists wanting to find out more about our school’s situation and why we needed to use the library as a classroom.  The Herald then did this article http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11792056
In the article there is a quote from the Ministry of Education saying that we are looking at changing the school zone boundaries.  That is not really correct.  It is one option that the Board will consider if the roll continues to grow.  But we are not actively considering such a change at present.
Whatever happens we will make sure the school community is well informed of any developments.  In the meantime we would love any creative ideas for housing some of the library resources – contact Raewyn or Karen Parr (BOTKaren@houghton.school.nz)
